Our History

Beginnings

San Bernardino Baptist had its first service on December 6th, 1998. Pastor Matthew Witter felt led of the Lord to move to San Bernardino with his family and start what is now San Bernardino Baptist Church. Although at the time there was no congregation and no church building, Pastor Witter followed the Lord’s leading by faith.

Transitions

After ten years of pastoring, the Lord began to deal with Bro. Witter's heart about use in another ministry. He resigned in January, 2009. On August 2nd, 2009 the Lord moved Paul Norton to pastor of San Bernardino Baptist Church until November of 2015 when God moved the Norton family to Faith Baptist Church in Beaver Creek, OH., In January of 2016 God led San Bernardino Baptist Church to call John Ashley as their pastor.

Future

Pastor Ashley & the leadership of SBBC continue to lead our church in the direction of making an impact on San Bernardino through the person and work of Jesus Christ. We are looking forward to what God will continue to do in the lives of His children. We continue to grow as a church for all ages and would love the opportunity to minister to you.
